Bournemouth has long
been one of Britain’s best loved and most fashionable resorts,
offering its visitors seven miles of golden sands, a fine pier,
attractive promenade, beautiful gardens and a vast variety of shops
and top entertainment venues.
The Marsham Court hotel with its award winning garden frontage is in
a quiet central location on the East Cliff, it overlooks the bay and
is
only a short step to the town centre, pier and beach.
Included Excursions: Exbury Gardens, Compton Acres Garden, The
Historic Dockyard at Portsmouth and Historic Salisbury.
One day will take you to lovely Exbury Gardens located on the edge
of the New Forest, created in the 1920’s and best known for its
world famous collection of rhododendrons, azaleas, camellias and
rare trees and shrubs. Another day will take you to Compton Acres,
one of the finest privately owned gardens in the south this is
followed by an afternoon at leisure in Poole Harbour. A visit to the
Historic Dockyard of Portsmouth where we include all the major
attractions will take place on another day. There is Lord Nelson’s
flagship, HMS Victory and Queen Victoria’s battleship, HMS Warrior
1860. Discover the secrets of the Mary Rose in the Mary Rose museum
and the more up to date history of the Royal Navy at the Royal Naval
Museum and Action Stations. There is also an included harbour tour
to see the naval ships, and harbour fortifications from the water.
Finally another day will take you to the historic city of Salisbury.

Hexham is a
picturesque market town rich in history and with a number of
impressive buildings including the magnificent Abbey founded in 674
AD. Hexham is situated in scenic Hadrian’s Wall Country in beautiful
Northumberland, a fantastic heritage coastline, magnificent castles
and beautiful gardens are all within easy reach.
The Beaumont Hotel is conveniently located in the centre of Hexham
overlooking the 7th century Abbey and grounds, this delightful and
comfortable hotel is under the personal supervision of the owners
and has proved very popular with Easytravel clients.
Excursions Include: Holy Island of Lindisfarne, Hadrian’s Wall,
Alnwick & NT Cragside.
One day we travel and cross the causeway to the Holy Island of
Lindisfarne, time at leisure to then explore the village with
optional visits to the Castle, Priory and Centre. On our return we
trace the Northumberland coast and visit Bamburgh, Seahouses and
Craster.
Another day we follow the path of Hadrian’s Wall and discover with
the help of a qualifi ed guide the history of the wall, its forts,
museums and milecastles, some walking is necessary to see the forts
and the wall. A day will also be spent going fi rst to the lovely
town of Alnwick where if you choose you will have time to visit
either ‘Alnwick Gardens’ one of the most exciting contemporary
gardens to be developed in the last century, or ‘Alnwick Castle’
home of the Percy family for nearly 700 years. This is followed by
an afternoon visit to the National Trust property Cragside, the
first house in the world to be lit electrically. |

Falmouth is an
historic fishing town with a rich maritime history and a beautiful
coastline. In the narrow streets of the bustling town centre you
will find a wide selection of shops and art galleries, cobbled
alleyways lead down to the harbour side overlooked by magnificent
Pendennis Castle. Sheltered sandy beaches and glorious parks and
gardens all combine to make this an ideal base for a holiday. The
family run Membly Hall Hotel occupies a sea front position affording
splendid views of Falmouth Bay you can be assured of a friendly
relaxing atmosphere.
Excursions Include: Bonython Gardens, National Seal Sanctuary,
Porthleven, Cruise, Truro. A morning visit to lovely Bonython Estate
Gardens will take place one day followed by a scenic drive of the
far southwest. We travel to the National Seal Sanctuary at Gweek on
another day where you will experience animal welfare in action at
Europe’s busiest Seal rescue centre. We call at Porthleven in the
afternoon which has arguably the most impressive harbour in Cornwall
being constructed during Napoleonic times. Also included is a scenic
boat trip from Falmouth to the capital of Cornwall -Truro, you will
then have free time to explore this lovely city before the coach
takes you back to Falmouth. |

Situated on
Yorkshire’s glorious coastline Scarborough has retained the charm
and style established in its Victorian heyday. Offering visitors two
golden beaches, a bustling harbour, beautifully tended gardens and a
good shopping centre Scarborough is an excellent base from which to
explore and enjoy the varied rural scenery, rugged coastline and

living landscapes to discover how our ancestors lived. On then to
the charming and ancient market town of Helmsley where you can roam
the shops or watch the world go by from the tea rooms that flank the
cobbled market square. Another day we visit Castle Howard, a
magnificent stately home set in acres of gardens, you can explore at
your own pace the beautiful interior of the house and the lovely
gardens. A day will also be spent where we travel to the attractive
town of Pickering to board the North York Moors Railway for a
nostalgic journey through the Moors National Park to Goathland,
better known as ‘Aidensfi eld’ in the popular TV series ‘Heartbeat’.
We rejoin the coach and continue for a visit to the picturesque
fishing port of Whitby. |

Sweeping bays of
golden sands, backed by the breath taking beauty of Snowdonia is the
setting for the fi ne Victorian resort of Llandudno – famous for its
long crescent promenade and wide shopping streets Llandudno is
always a favourite destination. The popular Tynedale Hotel is
situated on Central Promenade overlooking the sea and bandstand
where there is regular entertainment during the summer months. It is
a pleasant level stroll to the pier, and best of all Llandudno’s
fine Victorian Shopping centre is just a short walk away. The
Tynedale offers genuine warm hospitality with excellent food.
Excursions include: Llechwedd Slate Caverns, Caernarfon, Portmeiron,
Electric Mountain, Llanberis Lake Railway. We begin one of our
excursions with a call to Trefriw Woollen Mills before stopping at
the pretty village of Betws-y-Coed, we then continue to Blaenau
Ffestiniog and visit the famous Llechwedd Slate Caverns where you
can experience fi rst hand how slate was mined and transformed, we
include a ride on the ‘Miners Tramway’. Another day we drive to
picturesque Caernarfon with its magnifi cent castle you have time to
explore Caernarfon or visit the Castle if you wish, we then continue
on our journey and visit the Italianate village of Portmeirion with
its fabulous coastal gardens. Finally a day where we travel to
Llanberis and first visit the ‘Electric Mountain’, a tour is
included where you will experience one of man’s greatest engineering
achievements, this is followed by a relaxing journey on the
Llanberis Lake Railway, taking in the unrivalled scenery of the
wonderful Snowdonian Mountains. |
