Paignton occupies the central
position in Torbay and is home to an array of traditional seaside
attractions, long sandy beaches, two theatres, marine gardens,
promenade, harbour and a colourful pier.
The Queens is one of Paignton’s favourite hotels with friendly
staff, great service and fabulous food ensuring your stay is one you
will be longing to repeat. It is situated in a perfect level
location just 200 yards from the town centre and the sea front.
Festive Itinerary: Monday Arrive to a warm welcome at the hotel from
your hosts including a cup of tea/coffee. Meet in the lounge bar at
6pm for
a complimentary sherry or bucks fizz, your candle lit evening meal
will be served in the restaurant between 6.30-8.00pm. A fantastic
night of cabaret entertainment will follow in the lounge bar.
Tuesday It’s Christmas Day! Santa will visit with a small gift just
before breakfast. We then head to olde worlde Dartmouth with its
unspoilt harbour, followed by a drive along the coast to see some of
South Devon’s hidden beauty spots. We return to the hotel in time
for the afternoon festive quiz where you can test your general
knowledge. A traditional Christmas evening meal with all the
trimmings is served for dinner, followed by another night of
entertainment. Wednesday We visit ‘Bygones Victorian Street’ with
its festive theme you then have free time to explore the resort of
Torquay. This evening you have the opportunity if you wish to go to
Babbacombe Theatre to see the Christmas show (Roger will take those
that want to go & tickets will be available to be purchased at the
hotel) an early dinner is arranged for those going to the theatre.
Thursday New Years Eve! You have a free day to enjoy Paignton’s many
attractions. Afternoon tea and mince pies will be served in the
lounge bar along with ‘cash bingo’ at 4.30pm. Dinner is followed by
a final evening of entertainment including a fancy dress parade for
those that want to take part. |

Eastbourne, nestling
at the foot of the South Downs is a firm favourite all year round,
with one of the most elegant seafronts in the UK and excellent
shopping it is sure to be a hit as the second of our Turkey & Tinsel
breaks. The popular Haddon Hall has the enviable position of being
situated just off Grand Parade, opposite the bandstand and only
minutes from the main shopping area..
Festive Itinerary: Friday Arrival at the hotel is met with a cup of
tea and a mince pie. You then have time to settle in before meeting
in the lounge bar for pre-dinner drinks. Dinner is followed by an
evening of entertainment. Saturday Breakfast is followed by an
excursion along the Sussex coast past awe-inspiring Beachy Head to
the quaint village of Alfriston, we continue to Paradise Park for a
lunch stop and maybe some shopping!, before returning to the hotel
in time for fun and games in the lounge from 3.15pm. Tonight a
Candlelit Gala Christmas Dinner is served, with crackers, trimmings
and a glass of wine followed by bingo, music, dancing and a fancy
dress competition! Sunday After breakfast you have the chance to
explore the resort of Eastbourne, there will be more fun & games in
the lounge from 3.15pm. Tonight is a themed evening (to be advised)
dress in your outfit for dinner to fi t the theme – prizes to be
won, an evening of entertainment follows. Monday Breakfast is
followed by an excursion to visit the picturesque town of Battle and
pretty Tenterden, we return to the hotel in time for an “Afternoon
at the Races” at 3.15pm. Dinner this evening is followed by the ‘end
of year finale’ in the ballroom, with a competition, prizes, music
and dancing. The evening is rounded off with ‘Midnight Chimes’ and
‘Auld Lang Syne’. Tuesday After breakfast say farewell and depart
for home.. |
